Sliven town is found about an hour and a half East of Plovdiv, fairly centrally located, and is the administrative centre of the district. The town itself sits below the majestically beautiful Sinite Kamani, an area of outstanding natural beauty, superb for hiking and climbing and a photographers delight. The superb beaches at Burgas are only 110km further to the East and easily accessible on a good road.
With a fascinating and ancient history, Sliven is celebrated for its crafts, especially textiles, and as the home of the Haidouk resistance movement against Ottoman domination. Visit the home of national hero Hadzhi Dimita, freedom fighter, or the home of the poet Dobri Chintulov who wrote many patriotic poems and revolutionary songs. Sliven was the home of the first ever textile factory in the Ottoman empire, making woolen fabrics for the Sultan and his army. Sliven now boasts a fascinating textiles museum celebrating weaving machines of the last 200 years. The town museum houses a spectacular collection of golden decorations of the Thracian rulers .
Nestling below the Balkan mountain range; between the sleepy town of Nova Zagora and the busy city of Sliven, lies the picturesque village of Kamenovo, a place where time almost stands still.
Here traditional values of courtesy and friendship find their home among the smallholdings where each household has their own large plot on which to grow fruit.
In every direction beautiful views delight the eye and leisure pursuits abound. Swimming in the lakes; fishing in the rivers; hunting (or photographing wildlife) in the forests, skiing in the mountains or just enjoying a stroll in the open countryside.
Take a day out to visit the sea at Burgas, the valley of the Thracian Kings, or perhaps one of the many ancient monasteries in the region. Or maybe just spend the day browsing the shops in Nova Zagora or its bigger neighbour Stara Zagora.
Alternatively sit in your huge garden, enjoy the sunshine over the mountain views and share a glass of rakia/grappa with your neighbours and friends.
Although a quiet backwater, Kamenovo provides all modern amenities , has shops for daily needs, and has good road connections to nearby towns for supermarket shopping and general supplies. Kamenovo is easy to access from airports in Plovdiv, Burgas and Sofia with good road connections to each city.
Purchase your moment of happiness in the village of Kamenovo for life, retirement, or just a holiday home.
Choose a plot and G & G Dream Homes will make it over to your specifications, all you will have to do is name your moving in day.
